Project List

Our current projects include the following:

Tampa Airport Taxiway "B"

This project started in the fall of 2009. And it involves hauling and placing several hundred thousand cubic yards of dirt for a new taxiway, and related infrastructure improvements. This is challenging work due to the rules and regulations of a very busy airport being a factor on a daily basis. Our customer Hubbard Construction, for whom we have worked continuously since 2005.

Mosaic Mine Dam Construction

This work, for Kimmins Contracting, is under way as of December, 2009, and it is taking place on the site of an old phosphate mine in South Florida. Our portion of the work concerns construction of a forty foot tall earthen dam using spoils left over from the mining process. This work is being done under tight scrutiny from MSHA and the site owner, Mosaic Fertilizer, due to the inherent hazards of working on a site of this nature.

Kissimmee River Restoration Project Phase II

In 2006-07, Pull Pans, using up to ten tractor/pan units, hauled and placed over 1.1 million cubic yards of dirt as part of this Army Corps of Engineers project.

That successful effort played a large role in our obtaining work on Phase II of this project in late 2008 and the first half of 2009, when we hauled over 1.6 million cubic yards of material to help restore the river to its original course. Much of this dirt was hauled in excess of 1.5 miles, and we utilized a large fleet of tractors, some pulling triple pans, for this effort.

Lakeside Ranch Stormwater Treatment Area Phase I

We teamed with Dickerson, a long time Florida contractor, to bid this work for the South Florida Water Management District in 2009. Our bid was successful, and work started on this 1200 acre site in October, 2009. Our scope of work includes clearing, cell grading, and construction of six miles of a levee and canal system around the perimeter of this site. When this project is completed, we will have moved close to two million cubic yards of dirt.
